How do I text someone that's from Germany?
I'm in the United States, and there's a foreign exchange student from Germany that I like. I wanted to get her cell phone number if she has one. How would I text her, and would it cost extra? My carrier is Sprint by the way.

as long as she isn't in germany, it won't cost any more than a text message to anyone else in america would
2 :
If she is using roaming: All you need to do is add +49 (germany country code) infront of her local german number mobile number (if she is using roaming). And yes it will cost you more, you will need to contact sprint and find out how much it will be on your current plan. If she isnt using roaming Then just sms her like anyone else and it wont cost anymore.

I don't think it's weird... I have two friends who dated exchange students (who also were from Germany, lol), and the relationship went fine. One of my friends just made sure they didn't get too attached so the farewell would go smoothly, and my other friend is still in a long-distance relationship. If you like her, go for it!! And it's a nice chance to familiarize yourself to another culture (^_^)

Student Visa- Germany?
Student Visa- Germany?
Can foreign students work on a student visa? I've heard that international students are allowed to work 90 days a year, but I've also heard that it's fine to work up to 19.5 hours a week. Is the latter condition just applicable for those 3 months or can students work up to 19.5 hours a week, throughout the year? Also, can people travel to and fro schengen countries on a student visa?

If you are a student from a European Union or European Economic Area country you can work as long as you like. Non-EU students who require a visa must get an approval by the German Employment Agency [Arbeitsagentur] to either work full time during term breaks for a total of 90 days per year or to work half days [19.5 hours per week] for a total of 180 days per year. This does not apply to college or language school students who are not authorized to work at all. http://www.internationale-studierende.de/en/during_your_studies/jobbing/allowed_to_work/ .. http://www.auswaertiges-amt.de/diplo/en/Infoservice/FAQ/Studium/07-ArbeitserlaubnisD.html .. The student visa is only issued for the initial entry to Germany with a validation of 90 days. Foreign students must get registered and must apply for a temporary residence permit at the town-hall of the place of their university respectively of the place in which they plan to reside during their studies. The residence permit issued by Germany serves as visa waiver to the other 24 Schengen countries for a stay of up to 90 days within a 6 months period; however this is moreless a theoretical requirement since nobody can control it. There are no immigration/passport controls on internal travel between Schengen countries. http://www.auswaertiges-amt.de/diplo/en/Infoservice/FAQ/VisumFuerD/15-Schengenstaaten.html ..

What's the best way for broke students to travel Germany in January?
What's the best way for broke students to travel Germany in January?
I would consider camping and cycling, but the only time me and my friends are able to go to Germany is during the January holidays and I gather it gets rather... cold. We're looking to see as many places as possible, as in we want to start off in Germany and make our way North and West, but we're all college students and pretty broke. Any ideas for travel and accommodation? Normally I would Spinnie, but its in January so I have to ask you, are you mad?

Well just do what I always do I let someone mount and pound me that way it is very cheap to travel. Some guys tell me to put a bag on my face and most only take me from the back because of my ugly hanging limp t i t s

If you're going up north, visit Rostock on the Baltic Sea. They have a student hostel in Warnemuende (seaport part of town) that is very affordable. Besides that, don't rent a car. Just take busses and trains. For more information on Rostock, Germany. www.visit-rostock-germany.com

Gemany is not a cheap country to travel in. Get a Euro Pass and stay in Youth hostels.

If you buy an interrail ticket which is valid in Germany it will be valid to go from Munich to Düsseldorf. There are also interrail tickets which are valid in more than one country so depending which one you buy it can even be valid for the entire trip to Amsterdam.
