You can do this independently of your school. Go to afs.org and request a catalog of countries. Some places have certain requirements you have to meet (language, age, etc.) but most are open to any high school student. You can also pick between summer, semester, and year-long programs. Once you decide where you want to go, you'll meet with your local office and fill out an application. Warning: It's extremely long. Luckily, from what I saw, they seem to accept almost everyone who applies. The program is expensive (about $10,000 for a year), but I think they do offer scholarships to families who can demonstrate financial need. Be sure to check with your school counselor before you leave about how your overseas credits will transfer. I made that mistake, and it set me back a grade in school! Good luck :)

Contact your school/university and ask. Since they have exchange students there, there are probably some mutual programme.

What languages are taught in schools in Germany?
What languages are taught in schools in Germany?
I'm going to be a foreign exchange student to Germany for my 11th grade year of high school. I don't know what kind of school that would be in Germany, but, what are languages I could choose to take in that country? I'm really hoping Russian is taught there ^^

English is big there, you might see French, Dutch, Spanish, and possibly Russian.

Fun things to do with an exchange student?
Fun things to do with an exchange student?
I'm 16 and a junior in High school, next month my family is hosting an exchange student from Germany. I live in Salt Lake City, what are some thing my family I should take him to? We are going to a Jazz game and I know there is a pizza party planned at a local pizza place? What do German teens do for fun? And how different will it be here? Thanks!

I think you should consider the type of things a German student would do for fun but I think you should focus on showing them around your home. If you were in germany you wouldn't want to spend the whole time doing American things would you? Show him what people in the U. S. do and have fun!!

Sam gave a great answer. A German teen will be very interested in what you like to do. Other things that could interest him are the natural wonders in your area. Take him into the mountains to see the canyons. Take him to Antelope Island State Park and to see the Great Salt lake. Germany is very built up, so he will probably be interested in the wilderness in your area. He will be interested in the Mormon Temple and a walking tour of downtown, might be a fun thing to do to.

Would I be considered an International Student studying in Germany with a French Citizenship?
Would I be considered an International Student studying in Germany with a French Citizenship?
I am currently in the middle of getting a French citizenship. and right now I live in Canada and am interested in going to university in Germany. Now seeing as germany is part of the EU (along with France), would I pay tuition as an international student or regular student? Thanks! Sorry, I haven't actually found a university yet รข€” I'm wondering about that too. But I know I want to study in Germany. I just have to find the right school. You'd probably need a student visa though, depending on where you're coming from.

You are regarded as a 'home' student based on your tax residency not your passport. There are plenty of 'home' students in Germany that do not hold an EU citizenship. The advantage of the French passport will be that you will not need a student visa. By the way, to go to university in Germany you will need excellent German but I presume you know that already.
