How much of an impact did the German student movement in the 60s have on democracy in Germany today?
Ok someone suggested this would be a good topic for me to write about as my research paper. But before I decide, did the 60s student movement really have a huge impact on democracy in Germany and Europe today? And if so, how? Is there a place you guys can direct me to find sources or read up on this specific topic in german history? thanks in advance.

Am German in my mid 40s. My take is that whilst it no doubt was an important part of the development of the German post-war society, it is not something that is measurable and can easily be argued. How would it have influenced democracy? I cant think of a single thing. It is a question similar to 'How did the hippie era and Woodstock festival influence US democracy? It was part of society but not really shaping democracy. Not to discourage you, but I thought it is better to give an answer than to keep stumm. and i am not a historian or social scientist major.

Grants probably aren't exactly what you're looking for as most schools require you be a resident of the state/country and use them in that state/country to get them. You should start looking for scholarships. Try both American and German. A good place to start is http://www.fastweb.com.

Germans love kitsch and tacky souvenirs.^^ You can't go wrong with snow globes or little figures, coffee mugs, key chains, shopping bags, baseball caps or even T-shirts. Zippos are popular as well.
