Is 800 euros/month enough to survive as a PhD student in Braunshweig Germany?
I am a going to be in Germany for a period of three months as a research student and I am currently a PhD student in the states. My employers told me that my salary is going to be about 800 euros/month and I am concerned whether this will be enough to survive. I am already in debt with my college loans and do not want to drag myself further. Also is this salary the expected norm for PhD students in europe?. Thanks

If you have to pay for rent out of this amount, this is probably not enough. Food is also expensive all across Europe. You need to ask what you will be expected to pay from the 800 Euro.
