Can I use Interrail Global Pass in Germany? (I have a student visa and living in Germany for only 2 months)?
Hi, I am from Romania and I am in Germany for Master studies. I have student visa (visa type D) and I am living in Germany since last month. I want to buy an interrail global pass ticket in Christmas and travel in Europe. My question is: I want to go to Amsterdam from Munich using Deutsche bahn, according to website, first i need to go to Düsseldorf and then take the train to Amsterdam. Is my interrail Global Pass valid for the trip between Munich-Düsseldorf? Thanks in advance everybody.

If you buy an interrail ticket which is valid in Germany it will be valid to go from Munich to Düsseldorf. There are also interrail tickets which are valid in more than one country so depending which one you buy it can even be valid for the entire trip to Amsterdam.

What kind of food or candy is only found in the U.S., and not Germany?
I'm an exchange student in Germany for 3 three months, and for Christmas, I would like to give my host family some American food/candy/or anything cool that can't be found here in Germany. My mom is sending a box of stuff and I need to tell her what to bring. Any ideas?

If your mom is on the east coast of the US, ask for saltwater taffy. :9

They probably have limited access to most sweets as there are plenty of Americans(Air Bases in Germany. However you can't get more American than Hershey and there will be lots of Hershey products they will never have tried.

I couldn't say what is or is not available in Germany. I do know that on a recent trip to Greece, I brought a bag of Swedish Fish candies with me & they had no idea what they were, but I would assume they probably DO have THOSE in Germany. However, I found this discussion on what foods Americans & Canadians miss while living in Germany that might help you: http://www.toytowngermany.com/lofi/index.php/t85403.html

Reese's Peanut Butter Cups are a hit with my German friends. I get lots of request for them.

What about M&Ms, etc? I know they don't have M&Ms in England. - Gummy Bears - Reese's Peanut Butter Cups - Snickers - Goldfish ...I'm just coming up with these from stuff I had issues buying in England Hope i helped!

How do I switch home computers for my foreign exchange student's iPod?

How do I switch home computers for my foreign exchange student's iPod?
My foreign student is from Germany and she has an 8g Nano iPod, 3rd generation. How can I move all her songs to my computer without deleting them and having to download them again, while adding new songs? How do I make my computer the primary source for her iPod?

You have to connect the ipod to the computer. There should be an options thing that pops up. you need to authorize using the ipod with this computer. After that if this student you have downloaded all of her music from itunes there should be an option of syncing the ipods music with your computer. Look around your itunes for syncing options when her ipod is plugged in the computer. It will tell you that you can only do with with about 5 ipods. But just look around for syncing options and you'll probably be able to work that out.

You can try this easy way, just need an ipod to pc transfer. THe tool can help you backup iPod video/audio files to computer, you don’t need to worry about losing anything. And if you need, u can drag the music into your itunes. More information: http://www.aiseesoft.com/ipod-to-computer-transfer.html here is how to use it: first you need download the iPod to Computer Transfer. then plug your iPod to your computer and the iPod to Compouter Transfer can automatically find it. your just need to pick up all the songs you need to transfer and click transfer button. then you have your iPod songs on your computer. Have a good day!

Yes there are american english schools out there. They used to be part of (DODDS) Department of Defense Dependant schools. I went to one myself and it was on base.

Um....just a thought but maybe you should finish high school first.

Can I make a CD in America for my friend in Germany?

Can I make a CD in America for my friend in Germany?
My exchange student from Germany and I have become very close. Now she has returned to Germany, and she has asked for me to give her all of the hot American party songs on a CD. However, I don't think this is possible, because aren't the formats different in Europe?

DVD players there are different regions. CDs are the same. I have a friend in Romania and one in England and the three of us send CDs back and forth on occasion. The only potential problem with sending her a CD would be customs on her end. I've had most of my packages opened and mangled by Romanian customs officials. But, if that's all you're sending is music, you could just e-mail or IM the FILES to her. That's the fastest, easiest, most affordable way. If you have them stored online, you could also give her permission to access them there and save yourself the upload time.

You can do this independently of your school. Go to afs.org and request a catalog of countries. Some places have certain requirements you have to meet (language, age, etc.) but most are open to any high school student. You can also pick between summer, semester, and year-long programs. Once you decide where you want to go, you'll meet with your local office and fill out an application. Warning: It's extremely long. Luckily, from what I saw, they seem to accept almost everyone who applies. The program is expensive (about $10,000 for a year), but I think they do offer scholarships to families who can demonstrate financial need. Be sure to check with your school counselor before you leave about how your overseas credits will transfer. I made that mistake, and it set me back a grade in school! Good luck :)

Contact your school/university and ask. Since they have exchange students there, there are probably some mutual programme.
