No, if you hold a German "Visum" valid for "Schengener Staaten" which is type C visa and is still valid you may also visit Switzerland on that visa. Switzerland has joined the Schengen zone as 25th country last December. As the second poster has pointed out you can well travel to Switzerland on Schengen Visa. Switzerland has joined Shengen last December http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schengen_area#Membership
