You could put "Wilkommen in _____(<-- name of your city)" or "Wilkommen zu Hause!" <-- welcome home! But if she's there to learn/improve her english maybe you should just write whatever you want in english!

My husband and I will be hosting our 7th exchange student (beginning in about 10hrs; I can't wait!!!) this year. On the sign we make, I always put some kind of party/celebration-type background (I'm a nerd and use PowerPoint - you can just put in pictures or something if you make it by hand), pictures of both the USA flag and the flag of their home country, and "Welcome to your new American home, we're glad you're here!" in both English and their language. I've also see signs with personal pictures on them. Many families buy a few ballons and/or may buy flowers for female students. Just make it something that conveys how excited you are about her arrival. Have fun hosting! It's a wonderful experience.
